Description
Georg Benda
Thirty Five Sonatinas
for Harpsichorde / Pianoforte
George Benda was the most important north German composer after C.P.E. Bach. These thirty five sonatinas are collectively the best summary of the early keyboard sonata form. The technical demands are moderate and the musical scope very broad. They serve well as the missing link between the last Baroque style of J.S. and C.P.E. Bach and the vocally inspired music of the middle Classical style championed by W.A. Mozart.
These Sonatinas are very highly recommended for seasoned students playing froma a grade VI through to grade X level.**
**Based on the Canadian ten grade conservatory model.
